Building virtual global education (VGE) faculty expertise and organizational capacity

Developing global citizens has become a priority in nursing education worldwide. Since limited number of students participate face-to-face academic exchanges with host institution, innovative educational approaches to bring the world are needed. Virtual (VGE) experiences offer opportunities for from around interact and learn each other without packing suitcase. While VGE's can improve learning while providing cost-effective, sustainable increase accessibility faculty outside their native country, they require directed preparation, development, planning. To develop VGE expertise our faculty, we provided pilot funding coupled dedicated mentoring team build teaching capacity grow cadre committed, engaged proficient experts this aspect internationalization. We built upon broad plans, combining two-person experienced faculty. Each project met different challenges along way; however, both undergraduate graduate evaluated high levels enthusiasm positive outcomes. will serve as mentors next year's awardees collective successful implementation evaluation.
